What's New in VDMX5 b8.0.7.3
VDMX5 is a powerful and versatile software for creating live visuals and video mixing. It supports a wide range of plugins, formats, protocols, and devices, allowing you to customize your workflow and unleash your creativity.
In this article, we will highlight some of the new features and improvements that are included in the latest version of VDMX5, b8.0.7.3.
NDIÂ Support
One of the most exciting additions to VDMX5 is the support for NDIÂ, a network protocol developed by NewTek that enables high-quality video and audio streaming over a local network. With NDIÂ, you can send and receive multiple video and audio streams from other applications and devices that support the protocol, such as OBS, Resolume, TouchDesigner, Skype, Zoom, and many more.
VDMX5 allows you to easily manage which NDIÂ streams are enabled and adjust their input settings from the Workspace Inspector. You can also access them from the Use Source menu in the Layer Source Control panel, or add them to Media Bin pages to trigger them like any other media type.
To publish your own video and audio streams from VDMX5 to NDIÂ, you can use the NDIÂ Output plugin, which lets you select which video source and audio input device to stream, as well as adjust some advanced settings such as alpha channel, RGB mode, and metadata.
OSC Query Protocol
Another new feature in VDMX5 is the support for OSC Query Protocol, a specification that allows applications to discover and communicate with each other using OSC (Open Sound Control), a protocol for sending messages between devices over a network.
With OSC Query Protocol, you can easily connect VDMX5 to other applications that support it, such as MadMapper, Vezer, Mitti, QLab, and more. You can also use VDMX5 as an OSC Query server or client, depending on your needs.
To use OSC Query Protocol in VDMX5, you can enable it from the OSC section of the Preferences window. You can also use the OSC Query Browser plugin to browse and control other OSC Query servers on your network.
